Open Settings → Workspace health or go to the health page. The page asks Is Alignr working? and brings together collection, assessment coverage, overdue manual reviews and remediation follow-up across your workspace. Your role needs dashboard access. Use this page when you want to know whether Alignr has current information to work with. Use a client’s assessment to find out whether that client meets your standards.

Start with the summary

Select Check health to refresh the health report. This reads the current operational state; it does not start source collection, run an assessment or repair a connection. Check Last checked and the automatic evidence check message. If health cannot be checked, any results still visible are last-known information. They are not a current all-clear. The What needs attention section links to recovery work. Warnings clear when the underlying condition clears; refreshing the page does not dismiss them.

Check the sources

The Sources table shows each source’s state, last successful collection, latest attempt, next expected collection and client links. Last success is more useful than the latest attempt alone: an attempted collection may have failed. Next expected collection describes the cadence, not a guaranteed completion time. Use Manage sources to review connections. If client links are awaiting matching, map the source records to the correct clients. For a Microsoft-specific access gap, check the client’s Microsoft connection choice.

Read client coverage

Search for a client in Client coverage, then open it to inspect individual controls and evidence requirements. The Current assessment label requires live evidence, at least one assessed outcome, an evaluation within the last 24 hours, and no outstanding need-evidence or no-coverage results. An old result count alone does not satisfy that check. For example, Acme can have current assessment coverage while an administrator’s MFA check is failing. Alignr has enough evidence to answer the question; the answer still needs attention. A missing MFA observation is an evidence gap instead.

Recover in the right order

  1. Restore collection. Open a source with an error or overdue collection, review its hint and history, and correct the connection or permissions as needed.
  2. Check client mapping. Confirm the collected records belong to the intended client.
  3. Collect and assess. Verify fresh evidence, then run the relevant standard. Refreshing health alone does neither.
  4. Complete follow-up work. Review failed controls, overdue manual checks and remediation verification separately.
  5. Check health again. Confirm the timestamps, coverage and underlying warnings have changed as expected.
If automatic evidence checks are paused, stale, unavailable or report a configuration issue, you can still refresh connected tools manually. Contact Alignr support for help with the automatic check service.

Keep the three questions separate

Your checkpoint: every operational warning has an understood next action, and you can distinguish healthy collection from passing client controls.
